H2On

PREMESSA:
Geologos sin Fronteras- Italia-ONLUS ha promosso e sviluppato tra il 2011 e il 2012 un Progetto di approvvigionamento idrico per la Comunità di Guerin, Comunità rurale di circa 8.000 abitanti (in continua espansione), situata a pochi chilometri dalla città di Leogane, ad Haiti.
Leogane e Guerin sono località che sono state fortemente colpite dal terremoto del 2010.
Prima dell’avvento di GsF-Italia-ONLUS l’unica acqua per usi domestici di cui le persone potevano usufruire, si trovava presso una stazione di servizio Shell a circa 1,5 km dal villaggio. Le persone si recavano quotidianamente con i loro secchi a piedi, o in bicicletta, o con carriole.
Il Progetto è stato sviluppato attraverso la perforazione di un pozzo al centro del villaggio, con l’installazione di due pompe sommerse all’interno del pozzo, alimentate da pannelli solari, la costruzione di due serbatoi sopraelevati ( all’incirca di 4 m3 l’uno) e un semplice sistema di distribuzione dell’acqua attraverso fontanelle pubbliche (6), posizionate in punti strategici per la Comunità.
Parte integrante del Progetto è stata la formazione capillare ai futuri beneficiari, che hanno costituito un “comitato dell’acqua” che si occupa sia della gestione economica del Progetto(organizzandosi con un “abbonamento” mensile che ogni famiglia versa come quota per l’acqua), che della manutenzione ordinaria e straordinaria dello stesso.
Il Progetto (che rientrava nell’ambito di un Progetto globale più grande, di approvvigionamento totale per 4 Comunità) è stato ultimato a maggio 2012 e inaugurato ufficialmente nel novembre 2012.

IL PROGETTO H2On :
All’interno della Comunità di Guerin è molto attiva l’Associazione JPG (Jeunes Progresistes du Guerin), Associazione di giovani residenti all’interno della Comunità, che si propongono (con ottimi risultati) di migliorare le condizioni di vita dei giovani della Comunità stessa, attraverso Progetti sociali di diversa natura (hanno fondato una scuola per bambini sordi, attivissima nella zona, in quanto realtà unica; hanno realizzato un Progetto di atelier di piccoli gioielli che vendono per finanziare le loro attività, seguono corsi di formazione professionali nella vicina città di Leogane per poi poter formare a loro volta il resto della Comunità, ecc. ecc.)
JPG è oggi l’anello di congiunzione tra il Progetto e GsF-Italia-ONLUS; le due Associazioni sono costantemente in contatto, e JPG si occupa del monitoraggio del Progetto e di riferirne ciclicamente le condizioni a GsF-Italia-ONLUS.
Alcuni membri del JPG sono musicisti professionisti, desiderosi di mettersi in gioco e al servizio dei giovani della loro Comunità e delle Comunità adiacenti, condividendo la propria professionalità.
Nasce così H2On, un Progetto che dà seguito al credo principale di GsF-Italia-ONLUS “dall’acqua in poi”, ovvero la realizzazione, all’interno di una Comunità che oggi dispone di acqua potabile-bene fondamentale per lo sviluppo di una Comunità solida e socialmente indipendente- di una scuola professionale musicale.
L'idea nasce in collaborazione con Progetto Zimbo-Ita, Progetto italo zimbabwano basato sullo scambio culturale, la fusione delle diverse esperienze dei fondatori, la condivisione del linguaggio della musica e la volontà di trasmettere a quante più persone possibile questi grandi valori.
Il Progetto si avvarrà, come sede, della scuola “multifunzione” che JPG possiede all’interno della Comunità di Guerin e che già ospita i vari corsi e workshop che JPG organizza.
Come già detto, all’interno del JPG e della Comunità di Guerin sono già presenti alcuni musicisti professionisti, che vanno però instradati e formati, in modo da poter essere loro stessi, in breve, degli insegnanti.
Per fare questo, GsF e Zimbo-Ita si avvarranno, come Direttore Artistico, del Maestro Massimo Covini, già insegnante di batteria presso il Centro di Formazione Artistica Arcademia di Omegna, e presso la Scuola di Musica Arturo Toscanini di Verbania, nonché fondatore del Progetto Zimbo-Ita, attraverso il quale, già dal 2011, tiene corsi di batteria e Comunicazione Musicale in Zimbabwe e Sud Africa e, come formatore, tra gli altri, di Blessing Chimanga, esperto insegnante di musica dello Zimbabwe, con all’attivo numerosi workshop di comunicazione musicale e corsi per la professione del musicista in Africa, in diverse strutture tra cui il Watershed College, a Marondera, in Zimbabwe.
A loro si affiancheranno anche altri musicisti professionisti e docenti, già amici e collaboratori di GsF-Italia-ONLUS e di Zimbo-Ita.

A seguito della missione preliminare avvenuta a novembre/dicembre 2013, Massimo Covini ha già identificato i futuri insegnanti, e, in data 16 dicembre la scuola apre ufficialmente i battenti con il primo corso di teoria e solfeggio tenuto dal docente Lauyrient Wesner.

Questo corso è dedicato a 4 futuri docenti di chitarra, 2 docenti di batteria, 2 docenti di basso e due docenti di pianoforte.
Lauyrient Wesner e futuri docenti sono in comunicazione quotidiana, attraverso internet, con il Maestro Covini ed altri nostri musicisti collaboratori per iniziare a sviluppare la loro formazione, sia teorica che pratica.
Durante la prossima missione (in data ancora da stabilire, il Maestro Covini valuterà la loro preparazione e i loro progressi, in vista dell’apertura dei corsi anche agli studenti.

Il Progetto propone e si propone, per il futuro, brevi stages musicali con Maestri provenienti dall’Italia e da altri Paesi, nell’intento di continuare a dare al Progetto e alla Scuola, l’impronta di Comunicazione Internazionale e “Senza Frontiere” che ne è all’origine. Lo scambio culturale, dei diversi stili di vita e dei diversi stili musicali è una parte fondamentale del Progetto. L’utilizzo di diversi strumenti musicali, anche tradizionali, per andare alla ricerca di un suono unico.

Da novembre 2015 stiamo lavorando all'apertura di una seconda Scuola di Musica a Lanzac, sempre ad Haiti.

Geologos sin Fronteras-Italia- ONLUS, promoted and developed between 2011 and 2012 a Water Supply Project for the Community of Guerin, a rural community of about 8,000 inhabitants (continuously growing), lplaced a few kilometers from the town of Leogane, in Haiti.
Leogane and Guerin aretowns that have been strongly affected by the earthquake of 2010.
Before the arrival of GSF-Italia-ONLUS, the only domestic water that people could use, was at a Shell service station about 1.5 km from the village. People went daily with their buckets, on foot, or by bicycle, or wheelbarrows.
The project was developed through the drilling of a well in the center of the village, with the installation of two submersible pumps inside the well, powered by solar panels, the construction of two elevated tanks (approximately 4 sq. metres each) and a simple water distribution system through public drinking fountains (6), positioned in points strategic for the Community. (see photos attached)
The main part of the project was the widespread training of the future beneficiaries, who created a "water committee" dealing both with the financial management of the Project ( organizing a kind of ticket for each family to pay a monthly fee for water ), and the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of the same.
The project (which was part of a larger global project consisting in the complete provisioning of four Communities) was completed in May 2012 and officially opened in November 2012.
The Association JPG (Jeunes Progresistes du Guerin) in the Community of Guerin is very active ; it is an association of young people resident in the Community, who aim at improving (with good results) the living conditions of young people in the Community through social projects of different nature (they have founded a school for deaf children, very active in the area, as it is the only one, they have created a small workshopwhere they sell jewelry in order to finance their activities, they attend to professional training courses in the near town of Leogane and then they form the rest of the Community, etc.. etc.).
JPG is today the link between the Project and GSF-Italia-ONLUS, the two Associations are constantly in contact, and JPG is responsible for monitoring the project and reporting periodically to GSF-Italia-ONLUS the conditions of the well.
Some members of the JPG are professional musicians, eager to get involved and to serve the youth of their communities and the communities nearby, sharing their competence.
This is why H2On was created: a project that follows up the main credo of GSF-Italia-ONLUS "from water…onwards," the realization of a professional school of music , in a community that now has drinking water, a fundamental need for the development of a solid and socially independent Community .
The Project will use, as a seat, the "multi-function" school (see photo attached) that JPG have in the Community of Guerin and which already houses the various courses and workshops that JPG organizes .
As already mentioned, inside the JPG and the Guerin Community there are already some professional musicians, who all the same have to be prepared and trained, so that they can become teachers themselves, in a short time.
To do this, GSF-Italia-ONLUS and Zimbo-Ita Project will employ, as Artistic Director Massimo Covini, a former drum teacher at the Center for Artistic Education Arcademia of Omegna, and at the School of Music Arturo Toscanini in Verbania He is also the founder of Zimbo-Ita Project , through which, since 2011, he has been teaching drums and music communication in Zimbabwe and South Africa and, and, as a trainer, among others, of Blessing Chimanga, an experienced music teacher in Zimbabwe, who created several workshops of musical communication and courses for the profession of musician in Africa, in various structures including the Watershed College, Marondera, Zimbabwe. They will be joined by other professional musicians and teachers, former friends and associates of GSF-Italia-ONLUS and Zimbo-Ita Project.
The Project proposes for the future, short stages with musicians from Italy and other countries, in order to continue to give the Project and the School, an imprint of International and “no borders”communication which is at the origin. The cultural exchange, different life-styles and different styles of music are a key part of the Project as well as the use of different musical instruments, including the traditional, in order to search a unique sound.
